Technology: Is It taking Over Our Lives?

IPods, IPhones, IPads, Droids, Tablets, TV, and XBOX. What do you think about when you hear the names of those products? Most people think about apps like Angry Birds and Instagram, or shows like Family Guy and Glee, or even video games like Call of Duty: Black Ops. But a very small percent of our generation think that it’s insane that people need all of these crazy devices. Do you?

I think that we all know that Apple products are very popular. The IPhone 5 was recently released on September 21st, 2012. It has been said that people would applaud others as they came out of the Apple store with their new phone. Is that really what our world has come to? I hope not. Apple has also released the IPad Mini, which is said to be the worlds best tablet. I think that a Kindle would be fine, but the rest of the world might not agree with me. But even as more IPods, IPhones, XBOX games, and even more are released, our world will never be the same when it comes to fun, as it used to be. And as for me? Well I’ll just stick to my IPod until the IPhone 13 is released.

Vacationing in London

Have you ever wanted to go to London, but never knew what to do? Well I have here some places I have found that you just have to see. The first thing is the London eye boats tour and ride on the London eye. The boat tour takes you up the Thames river. During this time you see things like The London Bridge, London Tower, and where Shakespear’s plays used to be. This is something that you don’t want to miss. The London eye ride is also lots of fun. At the start the workers put you into one of the pods on the London eye. The pods are air conditioned and have IPads. On the IPads you can get information on some of the sites you can see on the ride, like Big Ben. At the end there are cameras that will take a picture of you.The trip around  London is 30 minutes. I have found that it is best to get the boat ride and London eye tickets together.

One more place that I found to be great to see is the London Dungeon. This is a walk though the evil times of London. Although it may be scary for some people I found it fun and exciting. It is also educational because the stuff in there is true. Now that you have read this maybe you know what to do in London.

How Technology is Changing the World

“Let me show you this game on my iPad. Wait, let me look this up in the internet with my iPhone.”Technology has changed the world  so much in so many ways.  Everything you could need and want is right with you in your hands. It’s everywhere . It has impacted the world good and bad.

Need to look something up on the internet; check.  Asking, Need to hear that song right now?; check. Contact a friend; check.  This are just some of the many things that technology can be useful for. Everything is so quick, it takes seconds that before could take you quite some time. It’s made life so much easier. Instead of going to the library to check out books, you can look it up in a matter of seconds.  And of course, thousands of results will show up. Also, there are so many ways to keep in touch with people. Sending texts, emails, IM, gmail, and even skype or FaceTime, where you can actually have a chat with someone to their face, but you could be miles and miles away. Finding locations, and remembering things easier because you store it in your  electronic device. Again, technology has made the world  easier and has even brought people closer together. It’s so popular that it is said that the percent of paper being used in the world as decreased,Including the number of newspapers. Technology has become an important thing in people’s lives.

The New iPad

The iPad 3 (aka the new iPad) was released in March, 2012. The new technology has a new brilliant retina display, which is even crisper than that of its predecessor ( the iPad 2). To achieve this, the iPad 3 has four times as many pixels as the iPad 2! That is 3.1 million pixels, and a million more than an HDTV! Pretty amazing for a 9.7 inch display right? Along with helping to power those pixels, Apple installed an A5X chip which gives the iPad that extra boost for those extra pixels. The most surprising thing is, you still get up to ten hours of battery life! One improvement I was most happy about was the new and upgraded camera. The new camera has five megapixels and has five lenses to capture that perfect shot.

I think that the new iPad is amazing. Again, It has a crisp retina display, a new A5X chip, and a greatly improved camera. To prove to myself that the new iPad had a better retina display, I sat an iPad 2 and 3 right next to each other, set them to the same brightness, and put the same home screen wallpaper on. Apple was not lying, the iPad 3 has the best display you could get. I had no idea how it could get any better. My only question for the future is; will Apple add a flash to the camera, add vibration, or install Siri on the next iPad? If Apple could do that to the iPad, I think that not only the iPad would be even better then the current one, but more fun and easier to use.

The New iPad: Is it Really Different Than the iPad 2?

The new iPad, also known as the iPad 3, is soon coming out. It is going to have new features: four times more pixels than the iPad 2, the best display on a mobile device, iSight camera, HD video recording, and more. It is available for pre-order now; the cost is $630 at minimum. The iPad 2 was $500 at minimum, which was a fair price. But are they really different, and why does the iPad 3 cost so much more?

On the new iPad, you will be able to see clearer since its pixel performance has increased greatly. However, was there a problem seeing clearly in the first place? I, myself, have an iPad 2, and I have no issues with seeing clearly whatsoever. Improving the clearness of pictures and letters are apparently worth $130 more than the iPad 2. Honestly, I would rather have the iPad 2 instead of the new one, if it’s that much cheaper.

iMustHave

The day to day updates on technology surprises us still. The last few decades have led us to become more and more dependent on electronics. Apple and Android has been one of the major contributors to this revolution. Over 110 million iPhones have been sold over the last 4 years, 300 million iPods sold in the last 8 years, and about 30 million iPads in the last two years. Recently we have even started reading on electronics. HTC, Motorola, Kindle, BlackBerry, Samsung, Pantech, and more have come out with new tablets. The last few years we have become so involved in electronics that I’m even dictating this blog entry on Dragon, a speech to text translation application.

More and more schools are beginning to integrate these electronics into daily learning. Before we realize it we will have already completely surrounded ourselves with these high-tech tools we use for every day tasks. I believe it is important to realize the significance of the electronics and how far they have come from typewriters and cups on either end of a string. We take for granted the technology that helps us with simple tasks like writing a paper or drawing a flower. The momentum in terms of electronics is building.

The Best Electronics of 2011 and Whats to Come

So as we all know 2011 is over and 2012 has begun, but the question on alot of our minds is whats next?  2011 had some amazing new technology and electronics but which were the best? There was the iphone 4S which introduced a great new application called “Siri”. Siri is a virtual friend that is connected to all of the search engines commonly used in America and you are able to communicate with it like a normal human. Siri can answer all of your questions with ease.

Obviously Apple excelled this year with two other ground breaking products.  First the ipad 2 that has the best touch screen out and fastest Internet available from a tablet. Second the Mac Book air which proves that a computer of any size or weight can have all the power and space you need. No company can match Apples success this year.

However, not only Apple came out with new technology this year. Philips introduced 3D TV’s for at home normal use which was a huge hit and immediately copied by many other brands. In my opinion the most under rated of all new technologies in 2011 was the HTC Evo .This was the first phone able to access full 4G making it as fast as any computer out there and as portable as any other phone, making it a perfect companion for anyone who desires to use Internet on the go.

2012 is sure to be interesting, with the iphone 5 on the horizon and who knows what else is to come.
