It’s the great debate: ice cream or frozen yogurt? Over the past couple years, frozen yogurt shops have been popping up all over the country, claiming to be the healthier option for frozen dessert treats. Is that really the case? Yes, a half cup of frozen yogurt does have less calories and is lower in saturated fats than a half cup of regular ice cream. But, low-fat ice cream and froyo have about the same fat content, and most froyo shops are self-serve, allowing people to decide how much yogurt and sugary toppings they get. Although shops do offer fresh fruits to accompany the frozen yogurt, most people are more likely to reach for cookie dough bites and “boba balls” over the healthier options. This leads to calorie build up, and depending on how much froyo and toppings you get, one bowl of frozen yogurt could reach 500 calories.

Personally, I don’t worry about the health benefits or drawbacks of frozen yogurt.  I don’t eat it regularly, usually for a special treat after an occasion like a school concert or sports event. . If I were to choose between ice cream and frozen yogurt, I would choose ice cream. I am not a fan of the taste of yogurt, so I normally reach for the sorbet options at frozen yogurt chains like Froyo, instead of the regular frozen yogurt options. It is all based on preferences. If you plan to choose frozen yogurt over ice cream, try fresh fruits instead of candies and baked bites to enjoy a delicious, healthy nighttime (or daytime) treat.

The New “Hot Spot” in Cheshire Connecticut!!

Here in Cheshire Connecticut we have never had a place to go hang out with our friends. If we wanted to go to a movie, go shopping, or even to Froyo World we had to go out of town. But in August of 2012, our town opened a Froyo World. When you walk into Froyo World they try to make you feel welcome by greeting you with a smile and a “Welcome to Froyo World!” So far in Cheshire it has been the hot spot on the map. Everyone is going there after school and on their spare time. It is always so busy but they take the time to help you out and allow you to try some of the many different  flavors. Froyo World has many different flavors as well as 1,000 different toppings.

I personally think that this is the best thing Cheshire has ever done because I love the way the workers treat you and how amazing the “froyo” is. Also, because it is a great place to go and hang out with some frozen yogurt. Even though Cheshire doesn’t have everything, at least we have a delicious, yet healthy frozen yogurt joint. So what would you do without a Froyo World in Cheshire? Well, I wouldn’t know what to do!! Froyo World is the only place that allows you to have a delicious dessert and to hang out with your friends

Froyo World Fantasy

What do you like to do with your friends? Cheshire is a town that never has had a lot to do. Usually we have to travel to a different town to see a movie or to get froyo. Well now in the maplecroft plaza there is a frozen yogurt business can “Froyo world.” This restaurant is a great hangout for kids in middle school or high school.

When you go to froyo world in Cheshire they always greet you with a smile and brighten up your day. Frozen yogurt is a healthy alternative to ice cream. At froyo world they always have a few choices on the actual yogurt. They always get a new flavor every month. Also they have tons of toppings. From candy to fruit. My favorite topping is the mango popping bobas, they explode in your mouth. I would recommend you trying out this restaurant if you want to enjoy time with a friend and eat some delicious yogurt.

Froyo World Comes to Cheshire: Good or Bad?

I think by now, everyone knows that frozen yogurt is definitely the fad of 2012. Frozen yogurt is said to provide health benefits, a healthier alternative to ice cream, and of course a tasty snack! Millions of frozen yogurt spots are being built all around the country and everyone seems to love it. With its dozens of flavors and arrays of toppings from chunks of sweet fruit, to delectable pieces of chocolate. With either whip cream or chocolate sauce, everyone can find their perfect taste while enjoying the delicious dessert. One very popular “froyo” hotspot is the national chain of Froyo World. When news spread that the famous froyo was coming to Cheshire, everyone was shocked for the better. But is Froyo World here for the better, or was this change a mistake?

Personally, I absolutely LOVE frozen yogurt, and I believe that Froyo World coming to Cheshire was a terrific idea. But I do wonder: Does froyo really provide us with the health benefits that it claims? With the terrible epidemic of childhood obesity, everyone has been watching what they eat to ensure a long, healthy life in everyone’s futures. I researched the truth about the benefits and found out that……… froyo is healthy! So now I can honestly say, Froyo World coming to Cheshire was a great idea because it’s delicious and it’s healthy!

Stores Freezing Out Ben and Jerry’s

Ben and Jerry’s came out with a new flavor ice cream. Many supermarkets aren’t buying it. The new flavor is The Schweddy Balls limited-edition flavor featuring fudge-covered rum balls. Many people had laughed at the idea that  was shown in a skit about it on “Saturday Night Live” because the skit was based on that ice cream. Some supermarkets though aren’t laughing and also aren’t putting the ice cream in the stores since it was introduced last month. A spokesman for Vermont had made a statement that Ben & Jerry’s says Schweddy Balls is only stocked in about thirty percent of the stores but its indeed the most popular limited-edition flavor so far.

I don’t know why only thirty percent of the stores sell this ice cream. I think that more stores should because I tried this ice cream about a week ago and I absolutely love it. I think that its definitely one of their best flavors yet. I know a couple more people who love It also and I think some supermarkets shouldn’t give this ice cream the cold shoulder.

This new flavor they came out with is just basically vanilla ice cream with a hint of rum and loaded with rum covered fudge balls and my favorite, malt balls. It has all this in one ice cream and as you can see some people don’t like that but its personally one of my favorites. If I owned a supermarket I would have my shelves stocked up with this because I think it would sell.
