Benefits of Learning a New Language

Even though learning a new language may seem like a very hard thing to do, there are many benefits to learning a new language. Learning a new language can provide brain growth, helping your brain in necessary areas. It can also help with your memory- children who grow up in a bilingual environment have better memories than children who grow up only learning one language. If you grow up in a bilingual environment, speaking two (or more) languages can improve your listening skills because the brain has to work to figure out the different languages. Lastly, knowing two different languages can improve the first language. It can improve the first language by drawing your attention to the rules and format of the language.

In my opinion, all people should start to learn a new language. Knowing two (or more) languages can help with brain growth, memory, listening skills, and improving the first language. For me, learning another language doesn’t just help me- I think it’s fun! It has also helped me learn about a new culture. Although it might be easier to learn a new language by growing up in a bilingual environment, I believe that learning a new language will benefit you in many different ways.

LHC at CERN

CERN is a mostly world wide organization dedicated to learning about the Atom.  The reason I say mostly is because not every country in the world participates.  One project that CERN is working on currently and has been working on for a couple of years (15 years) is the Large Hadron Collider (LHC).  This huge piece of human technology is a ring 27 KM or 15.3 Miles in diameter.  It sits 100M or 300 ft underground.  What this thing does is it takes hydrogen atoms, then strips off its electrons making it able to be accelerated, and accelerates them to 99.9% the speed of light.  This has done extraordinary things, as you can imagine.

How does this help study the atom?  By colliding hydrogen Atoms at the speed of light, you tear them apart, creating different things.  Of these things that scientists have discovered are Antimatter.  You are not able to store antimatter, because antimatter destroys itself when it comes into contact with matter.  But what scientists are really looking for is the Higgs.  It is believed that the Higgs is the heaviest of matter.  Denser matter like the Higgs destroys itself relatively quickly, this is the reason why the form of matter does not exist.  By discovering this matter, scientists believe they can find out how the universe has been created.

THE WORLD: CREATED OR A CONVENIENT HAPPENSTANCE

People go about their daily lives living on this earth without thinking how they got here or how the world got here. Many will also go along with the world’s viewpoint that the world is just a result of the big bang and humans evolved from monkeys. However, if you stop and think your opinion might change. For example, could a pile of wood form itself into a house on its own, like a world coming into existence without a creator? Or, are monkey’s still changing into humans today? The Bible is a good reference when wondering about these things, but many people reject the Bible. Something many people don’t know is that science also disproves these absurd theories and also makes the point that there is a God.

The correct viewpoint is that the world was created and God is clearly the creator of the world and the Bible states that man was created on the sixth day. Science proves these theories in many ways. When Charles Darwin came up with the theory that man has evolved from monkeys he had no complete evidence, therefore disproving evolution in itself. When creationists argue why evolution isn’t still occurring if it once did, evolutionists say that it is a slow process. If it were that then there would be many more transitional fossils in the monkey to man arrangement, but there aren’t. Also, the ones that are provided most likely were just humans or monkeys with defects causing them appear the way they did. To counter the Big Bang theory, a person just has to think logically. Without a creator, for the world to be nothing at one point and just make itself there is no logic. For example, if you put a pile of sticks on the ground and no human ever went by them, would you expect a house to come from them? Well, the answer is no. It only makes sense for a house to have a builder, just like a world, needing to have had a creator. Furthermore, a question many people don’t know the answer to is, where did the sticks come from. According to, the Law of Conservation of Mass matter cannot be created or destroyed on its own. So how could there have been any matter for the Big Bang without an outside of the universe force, a creator, in the first place? There couldn’t have been any matter without an outside of the universe creator. The theory of evolution and the Big Bang can easily be disproved by going to the Bible, but if you don’t believe the Bible, science also disproves it.

The Death Of A Great

Neil Armstrong, the first man to walk on the moon, died on Aug 25, 2012. He was 82 and is going to be buried at sea. Neil Armstrong, who commanded Apollo 11, the mission that landed men on the moon on July 20th 1969 did not like to be considered a hero. When he returned to earth with his crew, everyone wanted to see them; presidents, prime ministers and kings. They were awarded medals and even streets were named after them. They went on a tour and went to 25 countries which took them 35 days.

Neil Armstrong was such a big impact on the science world. He proved that humans were able to go to another planet and he was the first one to leave earth. In my opinion he accomplished one of the greatest things in history. If he hadn’t done what he did we might not know what is happening outside of earth. He helped the science community in so many ways. He will be remembered forever.

The Dangers of Science

There is a study being done on gene synthesis which is recreating the building blocks of all organisms in a lab. This study could cure many previously incurable diseases. It could also be used for biological warfare by creating a new deadly organism. This would be almost as bad as a nuclear attack because it could possibly spread rapidly and kill fast like in the movie “Contagion”(PG-13). It is like the atom smasher in Europe. This machine would smash atoms apart to find new smaller things. It would be useful about learning more about the building blocks of everything, but it could potentially create a black hole which would kill us all. These useful scientific advancements could help us a lot but kill a lot of us or all of us. Godzilla is the same way with early nuclear science.

I don’t think this is worth it at all. If you kill millions of people just making a few advances in science is not good. This is actually why I am against nuclear technology. Not just the weapons. The uranium stays toxic for 10,000 years and can kill people. This is what happened in Japan a few months back when the tsunami hit and a nuclear plant was broken and people had to evacuate and people died from radiation.
