Cyber bullying: The Bullying you Can’t Runaway from

Cyber bullying has been a big issue lately. Its not the usual face-to-face type of bullying or put downs. It is over social networking websites, and cell phones.  The definition of cyber bullying is, “A hurtful, offensive, or racist comment put online.” It is so much different  than in  person and can be so much more harmful this way. People will say everything online or over text that they don’t have the courage to say in person. Students come home to be safe and get away from all of the bullies out there. Unfortunately, as soon as they log into their Facebook or whatever social networking website they use, bullies are still there. It never stops and  as  long as people post harmful  things to others, it never will.

Cyber Bullying can cause teens, or anyone of any age to do drugs, alcohol, hurt themselves, or even change schools/move. This is why we need to put a stop to it. It  is as easy to stop it as it is to do it. All people have to do is make sure whatever they are putting online won’t be offensive to anyone. People can post mean things but  they can always delete them. So, if there is an offensive post or quote just delete it. So many less kids will have hurt feelings and the bullying will finally stop at home.  Some people feel like they just can’t run away from all of the bullying and hate; there is no need to feel that. If we all work together, we can stop all online and over text bullying! All we have to do is think. Think about what you are putting out there before you actually do it. It is as easy as that. Together, we can stop cyber bullying!

Cyberbullying is a Colossal Problem

Wait! What’s up with cyberbullying? The use of technology to hurt someone, target someone, and/or embarrass someone and it really needs to stop! Cyberbullying has become an enormous, growing problem with teens during the last few years. Examples of cyberbullying are threats online, mean/rude texts, mean posts on Facebook or Twitter, and posting someones personal information on the Internet. Basically it is anything that is posted online intended to hurt someone in some way. This is an extremely bad problem because whatever goes on the Internet stays on the Internet. It is like ink on paper. Ink on paper will never disappear.

OK. I think that cyberbullying is  worse than regular bullying for one reason. It stays on the Internet forever. If you encounter cyberbullying, tell an adult you trust or close whatever or wherever you found it and go do something else that will help keep your mind off of it. If it doesn’t stop, try to block that person sending threats from your Facebook page or so they cannot text you. One question I have is why would somebody want to do this? It could only make everything worse than it is. I think this is a horrible problem that needs to end now. But as I was researching cyberbullying, I saw that some of these encounters with cyberbullying are not meant to be mean and are sometimes meant to be little jokes not intended to hurt. But the majority of the time it is not. Cyberbullying “needs” to stop.

The Facebook World

Facebook. The most common social network. It was invented by Mark Zuckerberg in February 2004. At first he called it “the facebook” but later in 2004 Sean Parker purchased the site and called it “Facebook”. This online social network has become a huge problem in teen society. When you hear the word “drama” Facebook is probably to blame.

This site is the one place where people can just lash out at each other or help keep in touch with friends. In my opinion I think Facebook should have a higher age limit use because some teenagers just take advantage of it, and use it the wrong way. I mean of course I have my own Facebook, most kids my age do, but I try to stay away from the fights that go on that network. Sometimes I really question the purpose of Facebook. Do we really need it? My view of this whole Facebook thing is that if people can’t use it responsibly then they shouldn’t use it at all. At least in Twitter you can’t talk about someone mean and then tag them in that post. The only advice I could give you is stay away from the fights on Facebook and you will survive.

The Outdoors Trying To Compete with the Internet

All over the world, the internet has become a great issue. Every kid wants to be  exploring the web, and not getting active outside.  Even though every child’s parents want them to be outside playing with friends, the kids sit inside instead. I think that spending all your time on the computer is not good at all.  I use the interent all the time, but I still try to be outside with my friends too.  In my opinion, people throughout the world should start emphasizing the outdoors and get every kid to be more active.

Now that everything is revolving around electronics, it doesn’t help with the problem. I have always thought about this issue because its very serious and people don’t see the effect. I’m sure no one is gonna follow that rule of 60 minutes of exercise a day, but just sitting outside and having fun will make a difference in this world. I strongly think that every child and even parents should start making healthier decisions but most importantly, get outside, leave the internet, and be active.
